E. Stanley Pierce
E. Stanley Pierce, 90, Saint Marys, Ohio, died 7:40 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2016, at Saint Rita's Medical Center.
He was born February 26, 1926, in Blue Ash, Ohio, the son of Lowell and Gertrude (Meacham) Pierce. He married Lois H. Kohmen on February 22, 1949, in Minster, Ohio, and she preceded him in death on November 24, 2005.
He is survived by his children: Donna Stark of Warsaw, Indiana; Bonnie Berry of Saint Marys; Deb Henning of Saint Marys; Linda (Joe) Dressman of Saint Marys. He is survived by his siblings: Harry Pierce of Sebring, Florida and Ann Domenech of Key West, Florida. He is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Janet (Alan) Huckemeyer. He is survived by his nine grandchildren: Jason Pierce; Jamie Pierce; Jessica Ahlers; Joni Ahlers; Jocelyn Henning; Josh Stork; Jenni McCammon; Jordan Dressman; Molly Dressman. He is survived by twelve great-grandchildren.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a son, Thomas Pierce; a granddaughter, Nikki Pierce.
Stanley was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Rhineland and Central Europe Theatres during WWII. He was a former police officer for the City of Saint Marys, and later worked as a truck driver for the United States Air Carrier Company, Crown Equipment and Saint Marys Trucking.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Saint Marys; American Legion Post 323; Eagles Lodge 691; and VFW Post 9289. He was an avid fisherman, and he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 2, 2016, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Saint Marys, Father Barry Stechschulte, celebrant. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, Saint Marys.
Friends may call from 3-7 P.M. Thursday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, where memorial gifts may be given to St. Rita's Hospice.
