Dorothy Kattman
Dorothy M. Kattman, 102, formerly of New Knoxville, died 12:30 A.M. Saturday, November 5, 2016, at Elmwood of New Bremen.
She was born September 20, 1914, in Noble Township, Auglaize County, Ohio, the daughter of William and Tessa (Vogel) Glass. She married Ernest Henry Kattman on December 29, 1938, and he preceded her in death on January 19, 1995.
She is survived by her son, David (Dianne) Kattman of North Olmsted, Ohio; by her son-in-law, LeRoy Lenhart of Saint Marys. She is survived by her five grandchildren: Laura Lenhart; Jodi (Mark) Hagan; Patricia (Gary) Schaublin; Susan (Jesse) Paul; Caren (Neil) Mahlie; by twelve great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Pauline Ogilvy of Norwalk, Ohio, and Nellie (Kenneth) Krauss of Saint Marys.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Linda Lenhart; by her siblings: Otto Glass; Juanita Garwick; Helen Bruns; Wilma Lynch; Virginia Hegemier; Roger Glass; Mary Hardin.
Dorothy was a 1932 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. She had done office work at Brookside Laboratories in New Knoxville; and had also worked at the D. Armstrong Dry Goods Store in Saint Marys, Saint Marys Hardware Store and New Knoxville School.
She had volunteered at Auglaize School for many years. She was a member of the First Church of New Knoxville, and she enjoyed crocheting, playing cards with friends; traveling and square dancing.
Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at the First Church of New Knoxville, the Reverend Joel Bucklin, officiant. Burial will follow at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys.
