* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:40 AM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall slowly this afternoon, falling below flood stage later this evening. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Jerome Schmitmeyer
Jerome J. Schmitmeyer age 76 of Minster, Ohio died at 11:25 PM on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Heritage Center, Minster.
He was born on April 9, 1940 in Minster, Ohio to the late Leander & Elsie (Enneking) Schmitmeyer. He married Kathleen R. Feltz on May 30, 1964 at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Cassella. Kathleen preceded Jerome in death on January 7, 2007.
Jerome is survived by a son, Jarett & Nicole Schmitmeyer of New Bremen, and two grandsons, Austin and Adam Schmitmeyer, also of New Bremen. He is also survived by siblings, Martha & Cyril Thobe of Chickasaw, Donald & Marilyn Schmitmeyer of Minster, and a sister in-law, Mary Ann Schmitmeyer of Ft. Loramie.
In addition to his wife, Jerome is preceded in death by a daughter, Jeannie Schmitmeyer, a brother, Roger Schmitmeyer, and a sister, Dorothy Schmitmeyer.
He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, as well as the Minster Knights of Columbus. Jerome was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, and a member of the American Legion Post 387 of Minster.
He was a retired Farmer and had formerly worked at Crown Inc. Jerome enjoyed gardening, collecting and studying coins, and was a regular blood donor.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 31, 2016 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster with Rev. Rick Nieberding celebrant. Burial and full military honors by the Minster Firing Squad will take place in St. Augustine Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, October 30, 2016 and from 9:00 to 9:30 AM on Monday.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Augustine Catholic Church.
