Treatment area operating
Photo by Ryan Snyder/The Daily Standard

The Coldwater Creek Treatment Train is operating at full capacity. The creek water is pumped from Coldwater Creek into a large settling pond on property which was formerly a 40-acre farm field. From there it flows by gravity through a series of deep ponds and shallow plant-filled areas, which allow the solids to settle to the bottom. The $2.5 million facility went online in September, joining a similar treatment area on Prairie Creek. Construction of more treatment trains are also scheduled for Beaver Creek and for Big and Little Chickasaw creeks. A full video of the process can be seen at dailystandard.com/video.
