George Speelman
George E. Speelman age 83 of Minster, Ohio died at 10:25 PM on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at his home.
He was born on January 10, 1933 in New Weston, Ohio to the late George & Anna (Tieben) Speelman. He married Irene Broering on June 1, 1957 in Cranberry Prairie. She preceded him in death on October 8, 2015.
He is also survived by children: Joan & Norbert Homan, New Bremen, Marlene & Michael Zimmerman, Sidney, Mark & Kathryn Speelman, Maria Stein, Janice & James Turner, Russia, Kathryn & Todd Stucke, Atlanta, GA, Larry & Amy Speelman, New Bremen, Kelly & Andrew Bernhold, New Bremen, Craig & Lauren Speelman, Valparaiso, IN, 20 grandchildren & 9 great grandchildren, brothers & sisters: Laveda "Sis" Barga, Versailles, Gene & Marjorie Speelman, Minster, Thelma & Jim Henman, Sidney, brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law Mary & Louis Grieshop, Willowdell, Ohio, Paul & Nancy Broering, St. Henry, Elmer & Barb Broering, St. Henry, Luke & Barb Broering, St. Henry, Don & Janice Coldwater, Rob & Betty Broering, St. Henry, Wally & Shirley Broering, St. Henry, Jean & Orville Borgert, Sidney and brother-in-law Denny & Sharon Ontrop, Ft. He was preceded in death by a great granddaughter McKinlee and sister-in-law Esther Ontrop.
He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster. He was employed at North Star Hardware for 40 years and at Precision Strip for 10 years. He was a loving husband of 58 years, father, grandfather & great grandfather.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster with Rev. Rick Nieberding celebrant. Burial will take place in St. Augustine Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 and from 9:00 to 9:30 AM on Thursday, October 13, 2015.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Grand Lake Hospice.
