Robbery suspect in court

Man accused in Celina heist faces Indiana charge

FORT WAYNE, IND. - The suspected robber of a Celina bank is headed to court in Indiana for charges related to a different robbery.

Joshuia Bursey, 32, Pierceton, Ind., had an initial appearance this morning in an Allen County, Indiana, court for a fifth-degree felony charge of robbery.

Details on that charge were not available at press time today.

The charge was filed in the court on Sept. 19, four days before Bursey allegedly robbed Second National Bank, 800 N. Main St., Celina, according to court records.

Celina police Chief Tom Wale announced on Friday that Bursey had been arrested after a traffic stop by Fort Wayne police officers, the Allen County (Indiana) Sheriff's Office, the FBI Task Force and U.S. Marshals.

Bursey is accused of robbing the Celina bank at about 1 p.m. Sept. 23. He reportedly announced a robbery and demanded cash while never displaying or brandishing a weapon. He then reportedly fled the scene on foot after having received an undisclosed amount of cash.

The Indiana charge is unrelated to the Celina robbery, Wale said in a news release.

According to Celina Municipal Court records, Celina police filed a warrant for Bursey on Sept. 28 and have charged him with a third-degree felony for robbery and a fifth-degree felony for theft.

No court date has been set for Bursey in Celina Municipal Court, according to records.
