Anna Brandt
Anna L Brandt, 93, of Rockford, Ohio, formerly of Willshire, Ohio, died at 4:05 p.m., Thursday, September 1, 2016, at the In-Patient Hospice Center in Van Wert, Ohio.
She was born on November 2, 1922 in the Rockford area to Otto and Eda (Kable) Fahncke. On November 26, 1942, she married Herbert Wilson Brandt, and he preceded in death on November 21, 2014.
Anna lived all her life in the area and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid. She was a volunteer at Shane Hill for many years, where she knew many of the people.
She loved gardening - both flowers and vegetables, and she was a great cook. She canned and froze the vegetables which she grew for herself and her family. She enjoyed watching football with her husband, Herb, when he was living, but most of all she loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are three sons: Edgar (Bev) Brandt, Fort Wayne, Indiana, Alan (Kay) Brandt, Rockford, Ohio, and Cary (Kim) Brandt, Willshire, Ohio; two daughters: Janet (Ralph) Huge, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Carole (DeWayne) Knipstein, Hoagland, Indiana. Thirteen grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren also survive. One brother and two sisters survive: Martin Fahncke of St. Marys, Ohio, Marcella Werner, of Pennsylvania, and Celesta Howell of Columbia City, Indiana.
Deceased is one grandchild, three brothers: Kenneth, Richard, and Luther Fahncke, and two sisters: Wanda Fahncke and Lauretta Brooks.
Services will be held on Sunday, September 4, 2016, at 4:30 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Chattanooga, Ohio, with Pastor Karen Tamorria officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the church prior to the service on Sunday, from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.
