Body found identified as Rockford woman

CELINA - The body of a woman found near Havemann Road in Celina late Thursday morning has been identified as Sondra M. Thatcher, 34, of 604 W. Columbia St., Rockford.
Thatcher's body was found in a woods near the east end of Industrial Drive, a news release from Celina Police Chief Tom Wale states.
The body was transferred to the Montgomery County Coroner's Office. An autopsy will take place today, a coroner's office employee told the newspaper this morning.
Thatcher, whose maiden name was Bowling, had been missing since Monday. Police had been searching for her on behalf of family members concerned about her welfare, the news release states.
According to Mercer County Sheriff's logs, Thatcher was last seen in Celina near the Galleria parking lot wearing a tank top, blue jeans and flip flops. She did not have access to her cellphone, purse or money, the log states. It further stated she had a history of drug abuse.
She was reported missing Thursday at 7:50 a.m. and a "be on the lookout" was issued later that morning by the sheriff's office.
An investigation is in progress. No further information was released by the Celina Police Department.
