* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Luella McGowan
Luella "Tude" (Romie) McGowan, age 92, Fort Loramie, passed away of natural causes early Monday morning, June 20, 2016, at the Heritage Manor Nursing Center in Minster, Ohio.
She was born April 10, 1924, in Fort Loramie, Ohio, to the late Martin and Clarabelle (Barga) Romie. On November 13, 1948, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Fort Loramie, Luella married James Patrick McGowan who preceded her in death on December 23, 2014.
Surviving are seven children: Terry & Dan Schoch of Minster, Pat & Janice McGowan of Newport, Dennis & Patti McGowan of Minster, Mike & Paula McGowan of Minster, Jim & Angie McGowan of Fort Loramie, Kathy & John Amos of Sidney, and John & Shari McGowan of Fort Loramie; twenty-one grandchildren: Phil, Andy, Brian, Kevin, Chris, Joe, Jessica, Michael, David, Claire, Bridget, Pierce, Stephanie, Matt, James, Nathan, Jeremy, Jake, Alison, Erin, Marcus and nineteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen Council of Greenville and a sister-in-law, Marlene Romie of Fort Wayne, IN.
She was preceded in death by eight siblings: Evelyn & John Siegel, Mildred & Howie Coble, Harold & Ann, Lillian, Oscar & Julie, Robert, Roger and Norbert Romie.
Luella was a 1942 graduate of Fort Loramie High School. She retired from the U.S. Post Office, Fort Loramie branch, in 1987 and had been Postmaster since 1976. She began working intermittently at the post office in 1942.
Luella had always been a dedicated homemaker. She was a lifetime member of St. Michael Catholic Church and had been an Apostleship of Prayer Promoter.
Many years ago Luella played the accordion with her family's Romie Orchestra. Luella enjoyed collecting stamps and pencil sharpeners. She also cherished interacting with her family and grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Friday, June 24, 2016, at St. Michael Church in Fort Loramie with Fr. John W. Tonkin presiding. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery.
Friends may call Thursday 3:00 to 8:00 PM and Friday 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie.
Memorials may be made to the Fort Loramie Rescue Squad, Fire Department or St. Michael Church Building Fund.
