Mary Catherine Brunswick
Mary Catherine Brunswick, age 95, of Minster, died Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 9:02 am at Versailles Health Care Center, Versailles.
She was born October 20, 1920 in Celina, Ohio to the late Edmund J. & Frances K. (Meyer) Pax. On August 25, 1948, in Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys, she married Constant H. "Conny" Brunswick, and he died February 19, 1997.
She is survived by four children, Donna & Gary Huelskamp of Versailles, Carol & Michael Steinke of Wapakoneta, Bill Brunswick of Minster, and Vern & Loria Brunswick of Eaton. She is also survived by grandchildren: Lisa Huelskamp & Ben Herington, Susan Meyer & Lance Liston, John Huelskamp, Tricia & Jim Bany, Tina & Tavis Swiger, Eric & Kelly Steinke, Carly Witmer & Hugh Kelly, Lindsey & Patrick Collins; great-grandchildren: Tyler & Megan Meyer, Drew and Brittany Meyer, Cole, Jacob, Thomas, Clare, Brielle, and Elizabeth Huelskamp, Samantha, Jacob and Allyson Bany, Collin and Courtney Meyer, Sarah Swiger, Riley, Caleb, and Braden Steinke, and Rita Kelly. Mary Catherine is also survived by siblings: Norma Irvin of Cincinnati, Donna Issen of Dublin, GA, Bernadette Disque of Cincinnati, Rita & Norman Klosterman of Celina, Barbara Geiser of Fostoria, Florentine & Don Cafferty of Cincinnati, Edwina & Gordon Meyer of Huber Heights, LaVern & Shirley Pax of Pickerington; and sister in-laws: Lillian Pax of Mesa, AZ, and Ruby Pax of Henderson, NC.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Constant H. "Conny" Brunswick, her parents Edmund & Frances Pax, and siblings: Juanita Schindler, Ruth Leugers, Richard Pax, Leonard Pax, Charles Pax, and Vincent Pax.
She formerly attended Holy Rosary School in Dayton, and Immaculate Conception High School, Celina. Mary Catherine was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster and The Alliance of The Two Hearts. She formerly worked for Crown Control Corp. in New Bremen for 23 years.
Her favorite pastimes included flower gardening, writing poetry, making apple pie, and cruising in the 1958 Buick with Dad, and later with her son Bill on sunny Sunday Afternoons. She also enjoyed making picture scrapbooks for her grandchildren, organizing and making the flyers for the annual Crown Retirement Reunion. She will be missed for her way to make people laugh with her clever jokes.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 20, 2016 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, with Fr. Rick Nieberding, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1:00 to 5:00 PM on Sunday and from 9:00 to 9:30 AM on Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County.
