Abandoned house burns

Personnel from the Mendon, Celina and Rockford fire departments respond about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday to a blaze at 11262 Taylor Road, Mendon. Flames were showing through the roof of the abandoned house when Rockford personnel arrived at the scene, Todd McKee of the department said. "Mendon knocked it down pretty quick, but it had extensive damage," he said. No one was at the property at the time of the fire and no firefighters were injured, he added.
