Cooling the embers
Photo by Claire Giesige/The Daily Standard

Firefighters check a building for embers at 23 Fox Road, Fort Recovery. About 3:36 p.m. Friday, the Fort Recovery Fire Department responded to a call that a storage building was fully engulfed in flames. Assistant chief Dan Wendel said the fire destroyed that building and had spread to a second structure. The second structure sustained damage to the outside walls and was checked by department personnel for embers and hot spots. No one was injured in the fire, Wendel said. About 14 firemen responded with two tankers, a grass fire truck and two engines. The cause of the fire is unknown, Wendel said.
