* IMPACTS...At 13.0 feet, State Route 117 near Route 118 north of Rockford is water-covered and closed.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:40 AM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall slowly this afternoon, falling below flood stage later this evening. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Robert Sauer
Robert Emmett Sauer, 92, passed away Friday, February 19, 2016 with his wife by his side.
Born November 18, 1923 in Elwood, IN, the son of Theodore Joseph and Margaret Martha Sauer.
He attended Our Lady Help of Christians Elementary School, Fort Recovery High School, Most Precious Blood Society Brunnerdale Seminary near Canton, Ohio, International Business College, and Cornell University.
He served in the US Marine Corps for four years during WW II. During 1945 and 1946 he was assigned to Repatriation in China and was directly involved with the repatriation of over 650,000 Japanese and Korean War refugees.
Robert began his public accounting career in November 1948, and obtained his certification as a Certified Public Accountant in 1953 and formed his own firm in 1956. During 1959 and 1960 he served as a board member of the Indiana Association of Certified Public Accountants, served on various committees of the association, and as President of the Fort Wayne Area Chapter. He retired on June 30, 2013 after sixty-five years in public accounting.
He was an active member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce and served as its treasurer during the period when the Jaycees were instrumental in building the Fort Wayne Memorial Coliseum. He was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church in Fort Wayne and Annunciation Catholic Church in Altamonte Springs, FL.
In 1949, he married Dorothy "Dotti" M. Leavell and was married for 66 1/2 years.
He is also survived by his daughter Teresa "Teri" Sauer of Winter Park FL; brother Tom Sauer of Gresham OR; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Robert E. Jr. in 1972, his parents, a brother and two sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial is 1:30 pm, Thursday, February 25, 2016 at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, 1502 E. Wallen Road with calling one hour prior.
Calling will also be Wednesday, February 24, 2016, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Rd. Entombment in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Memorials may be made to the Robert E Sauer, Jr. Memorial Foundation chartered in 1973, to provide food, clothing, shelter and education to those in need. The Foundation is an IRC 501C(3) tax exempt organization contributions to which are tax deductible.
