Emily Subler
Emily Mary Subler, age 78, of Frenchtown, Ohio passed away at 10:50 P.M. on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at her daughter's residence.
Emily was born December 20, 1936 in Shelby County, Ohio to the late August & Mary (Herbert) Barhorst.
Emily is survived by her children, Mary Catherine Buckingham of Versailles, Theresa & Terry Haines of Frenchtown, Michael & Bonnie Subler of Yorkshire and Kenneth Subler of Yorkshire; grandchildren, Jennifer & Rhonda Haines-Pruitt, Brian & Ashley Haines, Andrea Haines & Skip Brock, Eric Haines, Allyson Haines, Kelly Buckingham & Josh Gibson, Brianne Buzard, Scott & Anna Subler, Kevin Subler, Alan Subler, Amanda & Craig Dapore and Kenneth Subler, Jr. & fiancee, Sarah Couchot; great-grandchildren, Jacksyn Haines-Pruitt, Landon Haines, Halie Haines, Hannah Haines, Lilyan Brock, Liam Brock, Levi Brock, Eli Haines, Jocelyn Haines and Brooklyn Cook-Subler; brother & sister-in-law, Joseph & Wilma Barhorst of Philothea; sisters & brothers-in-law, Clarissa Brinkman of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Dolores Bruggeman of Maria Stein, Doris Bruggeman of Maria Stein, Marilyn & Ralph Meyer of Coldwater and Martha & Richard Subler of New Bremen; brother-in-law, Carl Braun of Celina, Lavern Schmidt of Montezuma, Ivo Braun of Portland, Indiana; sister-in-law, Chris Barhorst of Russia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Emily was also preceded in death by her husband, John F. "Jack" Subler on November 23, 2010 whom she married September 12, 1959; daughter, Sharon Monnier; great-grandson, Gavin Brock; brothers, Herbert Barhorst and Clarence Barhorst; sisters, Charlene Schmidt, Eloise Braun and Margie Rethman; brothers-in-law, Bill Brinkman, Werner Bruggeman, Virgil Bruggeman and Ed Rethman; and sisters-in-law, Jean Braun and Shirley Barhorst.
Emily was a homemaker and formerly worked at Winners in Osgood. Emily was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Frenchtown where she was also a member of St. Ann's Sodality.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Frenchtown with Rev. Fr. James Simons celebrant. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery in Frenchtown.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles.
Memorial contributions may be made to State of the Heart Hospice.
