* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

George Koons
George E. Koons, 90, formerly of 730 Hillcrest Drive, Saint Marys, and a resident at Otterbein Saint Marys Retirement Community, died 3:35 P.M. Monday, September 14, 2015, at Otterbein Saint Marys.
He was born January 15, 1925, in Noble Twp., Auglaize County, Ohio, the son of Ralph and Grace (Armstrong) Koons. He married Sarah Margaret Gearing on August 10, 1946, and she preceded him in death on October 28, 2013.
He is survived by his four children: Michael (Mary Jo) Koons of Vandalia, Ohio; William (Nancy) Koons of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; Jeanetta (Mark) Muhlenkamp of Englewood, Ohio; Barbara (Ken) Niekamp of Centerville, Ohio. He is survived by his nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Martha Bollinger of Celina.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and by one brother, John Koons.
George was a 1942 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. He attended the Coyne Electric School in Chicago. He was the retired manager of the W.H. Kiefaber Company and also Jasperson Supply Company, both in Saint Marys.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Saint Marys, and the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of Eagles Lodge 767, Saint Marys. He loved golfing and spending his winters in Florida.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 19, 2015, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Saint Marys, Father Barry Stechschulte, celebrant. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, Saint Marys.
Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. Friday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, where memorial gifts may be given to the Holy Rosary Church Building Fund.
