Harold Thieman
Harold A. Thieman age 89 of Minster, Ohio passed away September 8, 2015 at Dorothy Love Retirement Community.
He was born in Minster, Ohio on November 27, 1925 to George & Olive (Kleinhenz) Thieman. He married Elizabeth "Betty" Beckman on June 26, 1948 in St. Henry, Ohio and she survives.
He is also survived by his children: Robert & Elaine Thieman, Loveland, Ohio, Mark & Barbara Thieman, Minster, Ohio, Jim & Tonya Thieman, Sidney, Ohio, Paul Thieman, Sidney, Craig & Kristie Thieman, Louisville, KY, Lynn & Keith Benninghoff, Allentown, PA, 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, sister-in-law Chris Thieman, Minster and brother-in-law Myrle Vallo, Kettering.
He was preceded in death by brothers & sisters: Roger Thieman, Hilda & Bob Wehrman, Edna & Rich Frierott, Alice & Urban Poeppelman, Betty Vallo.
He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster. He was a graduate of Minster High School and The Ohio State University. He was a member of the Minster Civic Association, Arrowhead Golf Club, Minster F.O.E. #1391, was the past officer of the National Canners Association and the Ohio Canners Association.
He was employed at the Department of Agriculture for several years after graduation from OSU and then became co-owner of Minster Canning Company. He was an avid golfer and history buff and was a 69 year Alumni season ticket holder for OSU football.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, September 14, 2015 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster with Rev. Rick Nieberding celebrant. Burial will take place in St. Augustine Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015 and from 9:00 to 9:30 AM on Monday, Sept. 14, 2015.
