Paul Rempe
Paul Christian Rempe, 84, of 2601 Celina Road, Saint Marys, Ohio, died 8:17 A.M. Thursday, July 9, 2015, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital.
He was born November 21, 1930, in New Bremen, Ohio, the son of Harry W. and Anna W. "Minnie" (Klosterman) Rempe.
He married Dorla D.E. Goodwin on June 4, 1952, in Richmond, Indiana, and she survives.
He is also survived by a son, Christopher W. Rempe of Saint Marys; by two daughters: Kathy Rempe and Stacey Rempe; by his siblings: Ruth Rush of Plantation, Florida; Linda (Robert) McDermitt of Saint Marys; James (Mary Ann) Rempe of Saint Marys; Thomas (Gloria) Rempe of Greenwood, South Carolina.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings Marie Hobrock, Dorothy Delzeith, Esther Haebner and Robert Rempe; by three stillborn children: Lyle David Rempe, Todd Allen Rempe and Beth Ann Rempe.
Paul attended school in New Bremen, Ohio, and was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. He worked at the Lewis and Michael Warehouse in Saint Marys for 37 years, and later worked at Saint Marys City Schools as a custodian. He was a member of the Wayne Street United Methodist Church in Saint Marys. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family.
Private family funeral rites will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, July 13, 2015, at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys, Ohio, Reverend Jon Kraner, officiant. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, Saint Marys.
Private family calling hours will be held from noon until the time of services on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Saint Marys Community Library. Condolences may be sent to Paul's family via Millerfuneralhomes.net.
