Charles Dilbone
Charles Gordon Dilbone, 86, of Port Charlotte, Florida went to meet his Lord Saturday, April 11, 2015. He had been sick for some time, with multiple visits to the hospital and most recently residing at Consultant Health of Port Charlotte, Florida.
Originally from Ohio, he was a resident of Florida for a number of years. Charles was a graduate of Ohio State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture. He farmed for many years prior to a teaching career. He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
Charles was known for his generosity and his willingness to help those in need. He was a member of The United Christian Church of Punta Gorda, Florida.
He leaves behind his wife, Iris whom he had been married to for seven and a half years; step daughters, Sheri Disrud, Beloit, WI, Debbie Maysack, Englewood, FL; Jacque Webb, Rockford, AL, and Connie Richards, St. Marys, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents Darst and Florence Dilbone; siblings, Harold, Joan, Marty, Doug and a grandson Brandon all of Ohio.
He is survived by his children, Chuck, Jr (Cynthia), Alexandria, Ohio; Brock (Connie), St. Henry, Ohio; Sue Ruybal, Littleton, CO; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Charles will be missed by his loving family and his many friends.
His cremated remains will be taken to the Riverside Cemetery in Rockford, Ohio where he will be laid to rest next to his first wife of fifty six years, Kay.
A service to celebrate Charles's life will be held at a later date.
