Verna Hesse
Verna M. Hesse, 86, St. Marys, died at 1:45 p.m. Nov. 25, 2014, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
She was born March 21, 1928, in Daisy, Ark., to Joseph and Millie Kizziak Rasberry.
Surviving are four children, Cheri Hesse, St. Marys, Karen (Jeff) Getman, Hamilton, Mont., David (Lois) Hesse, Riverside, Calif., and Allen (Sandra) Hesse, Mendon; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Amanda, Brittany, Stephany, and Christine; a great-granddaughter, Chloe; and many nieces and nephews.
Also deceased are her parents; a son, Steven Hesse; and siblings, Nole Rasberry, Ray Rasberry, James Rasberry, Arville Rasberry, Hollis Rasberry; Geneva Markham, Eva Thomas, Elsie Roberts and Alma Babbit.
She retired after 17 years of service in the housekeeping department of Joint Township District Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, St. Marys. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting and fishing.
The most important thing to Verna was visiting her family and spending time with them. She will be remembered for her very friendly personality.
Services are 3 p.m. Sunday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St. Marys, the Rev. Tim Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Mendon.
Calling is noon-3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial gifts may be given to the First Church of the Nazarene, St. Marys.
