Alice Kronenberger
Alice M. Kronenberger, 89, Dayton, died Oct. 7, 2014, at her home surrounded by her children.
She was born April 6, 1925, in Cranberry Prairie, to John and Rose Bertke Rindler. In 1946 she married Arthur J Kronenberger, who died.
Surviving are four sons, John (Rand Parker), Mission Viejo, Calif., Joseph (Judy Lee), Dayton, Jerry (Teresa), Loveland, and Eddie (Amy), Riverside; three daughters, Karen, Dayton, Judy (Ron) Hart, Beavercreek, and Barbara (Stephen) Marsh, Beavercreek; 18 grandchildren; a foster grandchild; 20 great-grandchildren; one foster great-grandchild; two great-grandchildren waiting to be born; and two sisters-in-laws, Louise Kronenberger, Dayton, and Virginia Guess, Sebastian, Fla.
Deceased are a sister, Marrietta, and a brother, Carl.
She never retired. During World War II, she worked at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. After she got married, she lovingly gave birth to seven wonderful children and became a full-time mother and later, a grandma. Even though she had poor hearing, she managed to catch her kids at all sorts of mischief and "refocus" their behavior.
Whoever was with her at the moment was her favorite child or grandchild. She supported each one of her children through some tough times and nurtured many of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She gave everyone roots and the wings to fly.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Dayton.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Monday at Tobias Funeral Home, Watervliet Avenue, Dayton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Immaculate Conception School, Dayton, or to the Archdiocese of Cincinnati Diaconate Program, 100 E. Eighth Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202.
