Gretchen Hayes
Gretchen Anne Hayes, 83, Celina, passed away at 2:15 p.m. Aug. 19, 2014, at Grandview Hospital, Dayton.
She was born Nov. 8, 1930, in Celina, to Raymond and Cora Bollenbacher Fetters. On March 15, 1950, she married Gordon Hayes, who died Oct. 22, 1999.
Survivors include three sons, Stephen (Kathleen) Hayes, Waynesfield, Michael (Lori) Hayes, Celina, and Jeffery (Carol) Hayes, Celina; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sharon Genereux, Elkhart, Ind.
Deceased is a grandson and sister and brothers-in-law, Mary Lou and Joe Coons and Don Genereux.
She was a very active member of Mount Carmel Church of God and a former Sunday school teacher. She was a former employee of Rockford Locker and a farm wife. She also was a former secretary for the Mercer County Fair Board. She always had time for her grandchildren and loved to read, garden and watch birds.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Mark Wakeland officiating. Burial will follow in Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
