* IMPACTS...At 13.0 feet, State Route 117 near Route 118 north of Rockford is water-covered and closed.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:40 AM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall slowly this afternoon, falling below flood stage later this evening. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Eugene Homan
Eugene V. "Gene" Homan, 75, Coldwater, died April 14, 2014, at his home.
He was born Oct. 13, 1938, in St. Peter, to Raymond T. and Leonore Thien Homan. He married Norma Jean Thomas on Oct. 19, 1957, and she survives in Coldwater.
Also surviving are five daughters, Deborah (Don) Glaser, St. Marys, Diane (Kevin) Bornhorst, Kalamazoo, Mich., Jeanine (James) Steinbrunner, Midland, Mich., Laura Bruns, Coldwater, and Karen (Carl) Bergman, Coldwater; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Hale, Celina, and Doris (Jerry) Will, Celina; stepbrothers, Don Schwartz, Botkins, Jerry (Mary Jane) Schwartz, Fort Loramie, David (Loraine) Schwartz, Coldwater, and Mike (Vickie) Schwartz, Minster; a stepsister, Mary Lou (Bruce) Guy, Dayton; brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Martha) Thomas, Bucyrus, and Ralph James, Ohio City; and a foreign exchange daughter, Femke VanWyngaarden of Amsterdam.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Vera Schwartz Homan; infant brothers, Dennis and Donald; mother-in-law, Florentine Thomas; and in-laws, David Hale, Carol James and Mary Schwartz.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, where he was a member of the first group of CCD lay teachers, and Coldwater Knights of Columbus. He was a 12-gallon blood donor, a hospital volunteer and a former Boy Scout Leader. He loved being outdoors, gardening, bird watching and cooking. He also was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes. He retired from the foundry at the former New Idea Plant in Coldwater and delivered for Schwieterman's Pharmacy in his retirement.
Memorial Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater. He donated his body to the Boonshoft Medical School in Dayton, so burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater, at a later date.
Calling is 1-6 p.m. Sunday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater, and after 9:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Church.
Memorials may be made to State of the Heart Hospice or SmileTrain.
