Gerald Winhoven
Gerald L. Winhoven, 59, Celina, passed away Feb. 17, 2014, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, from health complications.
He was born Nov. 8, 1954, in Coldwater, the son of Virgil R. and Wilma J. (Berry) Winhoven, who are deceased. On June 22, 1974, he married Lynn Aliff, who survives.
Other survivors are two sons, Jerry Joseph "JJ" Winhoven, Cincinnati, and Shawn T. (Beth) Winhoven, Montgomery Village, Md.; two grandsons, Cole Thomas Winhoven and Luke Anthony Winhoven, Montgomery Village; three brothers, Ronald (Mary) Winhoven, St. Marys, and Mike Winhoven and Donald Winhoven, of Celina; four sisters, Joyce (David) Routt, Van Wert, Karen Chandler, Celina, and Carol Winhoven and Sharon Winhoven, of Cincinnati; his wife's brothers and sisters, Ruby Aliff of California, Patricia Mabry, St. Marys, and Lesa Aliff and Mark Aliff, of Wheelersburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Deceased are three brothers-in-law, Clifford Chandler Sr., Ernie Aliff Jr. and Odus Mabry.
A 1974 graduate of Celina High School, he attended Wright State University-Lake Campus from 1985-1986. He served with the Marine Corps and was stationed at Parris Island, S.C. He had been a member of the Celina Eagles Lodge from 2008-2011. He was employed as a machinist at LeROI in Sidney for 17 years and also earned his CDL license and had been a truck driver.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Friday at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Jonathan Exman officiating. Military rites will be conducted at the funeral home following the service by members of Celina American Legion Post #210 and VFW Post #5713, Celina.
Calling is 3-7 p.m. Thursday and 10-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
