* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes.

Richard Winter
Richard Lutz Winter, 88, of Tomah, Wis., and formerly of Rockford, died Feb. 10, 2014, at his home.
He was born Aug. 7, 1925, to Frank B. and Celia Lutz Winter in Fort Wayne, Ind. On Sept. 9, 1957, he married Ann Hoehamer at the Rockford Methodist Church, and she died Jan. 26, 2010.
Surviving are two sons, Dan (Edna Jane) Naniga of Camp Douglas and Kent Naniga of Jacksonville Beach, Fla.; three grandchildren, Brandy (Shawn) O'Marro, Aaron W. Gray and Jonscott P. Naniga; many great-grandchildren; a sister, Ann Baird, Fort Wayne; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. From 1944 to 1946, he served with the 80th Combat Division in the European Theatre as an engineer. He worked for the National Mill Supply in Fort Wayne for a number of years. He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed country living and most things related to farming. A lifelong interest of his was exercising his green thumb.
According to his wishes, a private family gathering will be held at a later date.
