Thelma Fannon
Thelma Fannon, 97, formerly of St. Marys, died at 8:50 a.m. Jan. 9, 2014, at Celina Manor.
She was born Dec. 8, 1916, in Fairfield County, to W.A. and Edna Blanche McClure Steinmetz. On Nov. 26, 1937, she married James Fannon, who died Nov. 14, 1973.
Surviving are son, James L. Fannon, Lima; a sister, Eva Sell, Celina; a sister-in-law, Lela Steinmetz, Wapakoneta; four grandchildren, Michael (Shelly) Fannon, Kenton, LuAnn (Bryan) Kuck, New Knoxville, Charro (James) Leffler, Wapakoneta, and Jordan Fannon, Lima; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Noel Fannon; a sister, Pauline Love; a brother, Wayne Steinmetz; and a daughter-in-law, Diana Fannon.
She was a homemaker and a member of Wayne Street United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, caring for others and traveling. She was also active in church activities and was a member of Kishler Women's Relief Corps. She especially loved her son and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 1:30 p.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Jon Kraner officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral.
Memorial contributions may be made to Women's Society of the United Methodist Church.
