Eugene Imwalle
Eugene V. Imwalle, 80, Maria Stein, died 11:25 p.m. on Nov. 25, 2013, at his home.
He was born May 11, 1933, in Maria Stein, to William H. and Elizabeth Huelskamp Imwalle. On May 10, 1958, he married Doris Hartings in St. Rose, and she survives in Maria Stein.
He also is survived by three children, Gary (Christle) Imwalle, Waynesville, Angie (Jon) Tirpak, Mount Pleasant, S.C., and Lisa (Duane) Newton, Ann Arbor, Mich.; grandchildren, Katherine and Hannah Imwalle, Nicola, Natasha and Nathan Tirpak, and Maria and Patrick Newton; a sister, Matilda Stammen, St. Henry; a brother, Edward (Janet) Imwalle, The Villages, Fla.; and in-laws, Dorothy Imwalle, Maria Stein, Martha (Richard) Scherer, St. Marys, and Phyllis Imwalle, Dayton.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Armella Baumer, and brothers, Louis, Walter, Herbert Alfred and Fred.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the Men's Sodality of the church and the Maria Stein American Legion. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from Midmark after 39 years of service.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Nov. 30 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the Rev. Tom Brenberger officiating. Burial will take place in St. John Cemetery with full military honors.
Calling is 1-6 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
