* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Joe Wallischeck
Longtime Portland businessman Joe T. Wallischeck, 91, Portland, Ind., passed away Nov. 22, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 27, 1922, in Portland, to Godfrey and Edith (Ankrom) Wallischeck. On Jan. 5, 1949, he married Norma Muhlenkamp, who died Feb. 27, 2001.
Survivors are a son, Rick Wallischeck, Portland; three daughters, Nancy Preston, Chandler, Ariz., Ruth Hosier, Portland, and Susan (Morton) Pugh, Fort Recovery; one sister, Betty Faller, Coldwater; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, James Wallischeck.
He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Seaman Bombing Squadron 107. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Portland, a 1943 Portland High School graduate and a member of American Legion Post #211, Fort Recovery Veterans of Foreign Wars, Portland Moose Lodge, Celina Eagles Lodge. He also was a volunteer fireman for 14 years. He and his wife were the owners and operators of Northside and Southside Carryout Liquors for 40 years. He had also worked for Sears Roebuck and Dedelville Milking Supplies and was an artificial cattle breeder.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Portland, the Rev. Robert Moran presiding. Burial will follow in Green Park Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 211.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with a scripture service at 8 p.m.
