Gerald Timmerman
Gerald E. "Jerry" Timmerman, 87, Fort Recovery, died peacefully with his family around him on Nov. 9, 2013, at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.
He was born July 13, 1926, in Sharpsburg, to Anthony and Frances (Rammel) Timmerman. On June 10, 1950, he married Irene Gruss, who survives in St. Anthony.
Also surviving are five sons, Ed (Jeanette) Timmerman, Independence, Mo.; Mark (Dixie) Timmerman, Fort Recovery; Dave (Lisa) Timmerman, Fort Recovery; Kevin (Lucy) Timmerman, St. Henry; Roger Timmerman, Fort Recovery; six daughters, Thelma (Bob) Parks, Greenville; Pat (Ken) Stammen, Fort Recovery; Sue (Ken) Flory, Union City, Ind.; Lois (Steve) Vogel, Fort Recovery; Sally (Don) Siegrist, Fort Recovery; Joyce (Tom) Fullenkamp, Fort Recovery; sisters, Edna (Paul) Klingshirn, Coldwater; Lucille (Jerry) Laux, Fort Recovery; 29 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one daughter-in-law, Ginny (Jeff) Pugh, Fort Recovery; three sisters-in-law, Jean Timmerman, Minster; Loudonna Timmerman, Coldwater; Alma Timmerman, Coldwater; two brothers-in-law, Bernard Hartings, St. Henry; and Urban Dirksen, Fort Recovery.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary; a son, Tony Timmerman; two grandchildren; brothers, Wilfred Timmerman, Richard Timmerman and Louis Timmerman; and sisters, Erma Eischen, Ruth Gruss, Joan Hartings, Esther Hartings and Bernice Dirksen.
He was employed at the former New Idea, Coldwater, and was a retired farmer. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of American Legion Post 345 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6515, both of Fort Recovery. He was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Mary Help of Christians Church. The Rev. Thomas Dorn will officiate and burial will be in St. Marys Cemetery, Fort Recovery. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the American Legion.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
