District gains more money due to state funding changes
By Amy Kronenberger
ST. MARYS - Full busing for St. Marys City Schools will be reinstated Sept. 30.
School board members approved the measure at their regular meeting Wednesday night. The action comes after the district learned recently about a state funding change that would give the school $551,856 if it offered full busing and $352,883 if it maintained state minimum transportation. [More]
Fort Recovery
By William Kincaid
FORT RECOVERY - Get REAL - previously a week-long character-building program held in the spring - will be integrated throughout the entire school year at Fort Recovery Middle School.
"Why don't we take this theme and talk about it all year long try to incorporate it into the curriculum and not just a few days at the end of the year?" middle school principal Matt Triplett asked board of education members this week. [More]

Bulldogs haven't beaten Titans since 2003
Two of the three unbeaten Western Buckeye League football teams will square off on Friday night at Celina Stadium with the Bulldogs hosting the Ottawa-Glandorf Titans.
The old adage "Throw the records out" is usually associated with rivalry games as two bitter rivals get set for a battle.
Such is the case on Friday night when New Bremen hosts neighboring Minster for the Battle of Route 66 in a Midwest Athletic Conference matchup at Cardinal Stadium.
Last Curtain Call
The matchup held all of the ingredients of a heavyweight championship brawl when, 20 years ago this season, the St. Henry Redskins hosted the Delphos St. John's Blue Jays at the Wally Post Athletic Complex.

This Week's Questions:
1. Can the Roughriders find a way to slow down Sherman?
Kenton quarterback Grant Sherman has been on fire in his two games this season, throwing for over 400 yards in last Friday's WBL opener at Wapakoneta.

Marissa Conrad shot a medalist round of 40 to help lead Minster to a 189-224 win over Lima Central Catholic on Wednesday at Arrowhead.
