Norman Rhoades
Norman E. Rhoades, 77, passed away Aug. 16, 2013, at home with family and friends by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born Dec. 13, 1935, in Darke County, to Hiram and Mary Cline Rhoades.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Rosemary West Rhoades; a son, Edward Rhoades of Union City; daughters, Kimberly Rhoades of Winchester, Deborah (Jim) Rush of Winchester, Jacqueline (Bill) Harter of Greenville, Lisa (Phil) Wymer of Lewisburg and Jennifer (Randy) Moore of Union City; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Ralph Rhoades, Richard (Margaret) Rhoades, Donald Rhoades, Elsie Ilene (Jack) Cummings and Carlton (Mary) Rhoades; a brother-in-law, Norval Brigner; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Rhoades and Marlene (Donald) Pingel; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by a grandson, Thomas Wymer, "1993"; a brother, Royce Rhoades; a sister, Mary Jean Rhoades Brigner; a twin brother and sister, Marvin and Marlene Rhoades; and a sister-in-law, Marjorie Rhoades.
Norman retired from Westinghouse after more than 30 years of service. He was also a school bus driver for Mississinawa Valley Schools, where he will always be remembered as "Stormin' Norman."
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.    Memorial donations may be given to Reid Oncology Associates in Richmond, Ind., or online at www.reidhosp.com.
