Luella Franck
Luella J. Franck, 92, St. Henry, passed away Aug. 6, 2013, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.
She was born March 2, 1921, in St. Peter, to Henry and Anna Fullenkamp Gaerke. On April 26, 1941, she married Walter Franck, who died Sept. 29, 1993.
She is survived by five children, Carolyn (Lowell) Hemmelgarn of Greenville, Dan (Linda) Franck of Noblesville, Ind., Larry (Theresa) Franck of Fort Wayne, Ind., Glenn (Renee) Franck of New Carlisle and Kathy (John) Fullenkamp of St. Henry; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles (Betty) Gaerke of Fort Recovery; three sisters, Mary Ann Homan of Coldwater, Virginia (Bob) Tangeman of Maria Stein and Marcy (Dick) Topp of Dayton; and four sisters-in-law, Rita Franck of St. Henry, Janet Gaerke of Fort Recovery, Dorothy Gaerke of Fort Recovery and Lillian Homan of Coldwater.
She was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren; seven brothers, Jerry, Herb, Leonard, Harold, Bernard, Virgil and Henry Gaerke Jr.; a sister, Lorine Forthofer; 10 brothers-in-law; and 15 sisters-in-law.
She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and former member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Burkettsville, as well as Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina. She was a former Celina I.C. Choir Member, Eucharistic Minister and member of the Ladies Sodality. She was a devoted, hard-working farm wife who loved to be outdoors in her garden and flower beds, loved to visit with people, read and play cards and Scrabble.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Henry Catholic Church in St. Henry. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Celina.
Calling is 2-7 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to State of the Heart Hospice or the Cancer Association of Mercer County.
