Milton Tobe
Milton Charles "Milt" Tobe, 83, died April 15, 2012, in Roswell, Ga.
He was born Feb. 13, 1929, in St. Henry to Leo and Marie Link Tobe. On Aug. 16, 1952, he married Mary Ann Hoeper, who is deceased.
Surviving are seven children, Kathy (Steve) Howell, Marietta, Ga., Mike (Cindy) Tobe, Pittsboro, Ind., Doug (Tammie) Tobe, Carrollton, Texas, Alan (Tammy) Tobe, Dayton, Caryl (Jack) Barrineau, Dallas, Texas, Chris (Kay) Tobe, Birmingham, Ala., and Marc Tobe; four siblings, Charlene, Jack, Sandra and Pat; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two siblings, Alice Lehner and Orville Tobe.
He moved to Dayton in 1942 and graduated from Chaminade High School and Sinclair Community College.
He was a staff sergeant in the Air National Guard and worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 45 years until he retired in 1987. He last served as district director of mail processing, Buckeye District. He held executive positions in many clubs and received many awards for his post office service. He also received awards from the Vintage America Race Car Association. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Kettering.
A Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church. Private burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Dayton.
