* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Charles Heinl
Charles G. Heinl, 85, Maria Stein, died at 12:25 a.m. Dec. 19, 2011, at his home.
He was born Jan. 8, 1926, in Wapakoneta to Anthony and Cora Fisher Heinl, who are deceased. On July 15, 1950, he married Rita Menker, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, John (Sheila) Heinl, New Carlisle, and Mark (Sandra) Heinl, Coldwater; siblings, Larry Heinl, Minster, Joan Heckman, Alice Kuehner and Barbara (Dennis) Meyer, all of Minster; sisters-in-law, Lucille (Don) Heric, Maria Stein, and Ruth Stammen, New Weston; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a stepmother, Edith Wehrle; siblings, Rev. David Heinl, Mary Angela Heinl and Hilda Morsey; in-laws, Irwin Morsey, Bob Heckman, Tom Kuehner, Lawrence Stammen, Irene and Paul Kleinhenz, Joe Kleinhenz, Alice Menker and Mary Ann Menker.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein, and its Men's Society. He was a past president of the Knights of St. John, Uniform Rank.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving on the USS Gambier Bay during World War II. He was founder, former president, treasurer and secretary of the USS Gambier Bay CVE 73 VC 10 Association.
He was a member of the Maria Stein American Legion, where he was a former commander and member of the color guard. He also was a member of Chickasaw Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, where he was a former commander. He was a member of the Minster Eagles and was a former licensed private pilot.
He retired from Crown Equipment Corp. and was owner/operator of Heinl Grocery, Maria Stein, for 30 years. He received the distinguished developer award in 2001 from the Marion Community Development Organization.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Tom Brenberger officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, Maria Stein, with military rights.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-9:45 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
Memorials may be made to State of the Heart Hospice.
