Light snow will overspread the area from the northwest this morning. An increased coverage of snow showers is expected to develop this afternoon into the evening hours. Slick spots may develop on roads tonight as temperatures drop and northwest winds gust up to 30 mph. Coverage of snow showers is expected to decrease overnight before ending Monday morning. Most the area will see an accumulation of 1 to 2 inches. Locally higher amounts are possible in areas where heavier snow bands develop this afternoon into early evening.
Roadways may become slick. If traveling, be alert, slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination.

CELINA - Mercer County residents gathered Sunday in Celina to share their sadness for the past and hope for the future on the 10th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001.

ROSSBURG - After taking the lead on lap 13 from Chris Madden, it appeared Newport, Tennessee native Jimmy Owens would cruise to his second career win in the World 100 on Saturday night at Eldora Speedway.
However, a bout with the Eldora cushion damaged the right side of Owens' machine and the final 10 laps went from being a ho-hum run to one of the most frantic finishes in the 41-year history of the speedway's most prestigious event that had the crowd of more than 25,000 on their feet. [More]
