Pursuit lands man in jail

An 18-year-old St. Marys man faces multiple charges after leading authorities on a six-minute pursuit along state Route 66 in Auglaize County.
Aaron T. Suttles is charged with driving under suspension and fleeing and eluding. Additional charges are pending.
The pursuit started at approximately 10:27 p.m. Sunday when a Minster officer attempted to stop Suttles' dark green Dodge Shadow for a stop sign violation.
Suttles refused to stop and continued east on Sixth Street running stop signs at Frankfort, Hanover, Lincoln and Main streets. He then turned north on Main Street, continued out of the village on state Route 66 and into neighboring New Bremen, where officers from the New Bremen Police Department and an Auglaize County Sheriff's deputy joined the pursuit.
A New Bremen officer successfully deployed "Stop Sticks" at Second and Washington streets, flattening a tire on the suspect's vehicle. The sheriff's deputy became the lead unit as the pursuit continued north out of New Bremen on state Route 66. The pursuit ended at 10:33 p.m. when Suttles pulled over at the intersection of state Routes 219 and 66.
"This was not what would be considered a high speed pursuit," Minster Police Chief Randy Houseworth told The Daily Standard. "The speed never exceeded 70 miles per hour."
Suttles was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Auglaize County Correctional Facility in Wapakoneta.
