Dorothy Lynn
Dorothy L. "Dottie" Lynn, 68, St. Marys died 11:24 a.m. Dec. 31, 2010, at her home.
She was born Sept. 29, 1942, in Decatur, Ind., to Arthur and Faye Martin Scheiderer. On Oct. 15, 1966, she married Charles Lynn, who survives.
Also surviving are four children, Amy (David) Winner, Defiance, Douglas (Melissa) Lynn, Fort Wayne, Ind., Betsy (Eric) Schurg, Woodburn, Ind., Brian Lynn, Marion, Ind.; two sisters, Barbara Miller, Harlan, Ind., and Sarah (Carl) Ziegenfus, Allentown, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Beverly Scheiderer, Woodburn, Ind.; and five grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, Paul Scheiderer.
She was a 1961 graduate of Woodland High School in Woodburn, Ind., and a 1964 graduate of Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in Fort Wayne, Ind. She worked at Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community as the director of health care. She also was a member of the New Community Church in St. Marys. She served on the board of directors of Harbor House in Celina, Hilty Home in Pandora and the Family Life Center in Auglaize County. She also participated in Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan's Purse.
Funeral rites are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Grace Missionary Church in Celina, the Revs. Tom Schwind and Dale Leinbach co-officiating. Burial is at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Decatur Cemetery in Decatur, Ind.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Memorials may be left to Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community, the Hilty Home in Pandora, Auglazie County Family Life Center or the New Community Church Building Fund in St. Marys.
