Early Christmas present

State dredge crew employees Steve Findley, Mike Johnson, Kevin Wilson (crane operator) and Dan Strode deliver an early Christmas present Wednesday to Grand Lake: a dredge that will go to work in the spring. It will remain in the parking lot near the former East Bank Marina over the winter, said Brian Miller, interim manager at Grand Lake St. Marys State Park. The dredge will stay at the lake "indefinitely," Miller said. Projects slated this spring include dredging the mouth of Beaver Creek in Montezuma, Riley Bay on the lake's north side and Coldwater Creek from the mouth to the U.S. 127 bridge.
