Members of the Minster Pro-Life Youth Organization place 500 carved pumpkins on the steps of St. Augustine Catholic Church in preparation for the fourth annual Pro-Life Pumpkin Memorial held Sunday night. Each pumpkin represents eight to 10 lives lost each year through abortion, according to organizer David Slonkosky. The 90-member organization spent Saturday carving crosses into the pumpkins and removing the innerds for candles. Mike DeWine, a candidate for Ohio attorney general, spoke at the event.

Correction:

Several errors occurred in a cutline about a Pro-Life Pumpkin Memorial in Minster. Each of the 500 pumpkins represented eight to 10 lives lost each day through abortion. Mike DeWine, a candidate for Ohio attorney general, did not attend as originally announced. The errors were made in reporting.
