* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Dennis Hein
Former Coldwater resident, Dennis Joseph "Denny" Hein, 78, Vevay, Ind., died at 12:47 a.m. Oct. 12, 2010, at Hospice East Unit in Cincinnati.
He was born July 17, 1932, in Chickasaw, to Joseph and Eleanor Clune Hein. On July 11, 1953, he married Alice Rose Weitzel, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Pam (Thom) Meyer, Cincinnati; a son, Doug (Donna) Hein, Cincinnati; two sisters, Geneva Dues and Alice Eyink, both of St. Henry; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildern; and a great-grandson.
Deceased is an infant son, Douglas Joseph Hein; and a brother, Ernest Hein.
He served in the U.S. Army as Sgt. First Class where he fought during the Korean War. He received the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a former trustee, vice president and president of the local Steelworkers Union at the former New Idea in Coldwater. He served as assistant to the director while a part of the Steelworkers Union. He served as Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #5135. He was President of the Coldwater Community Picnic and was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater. He was a charter member of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and a member of the Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church, both of Vevay.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater, the Rev. John Meyer officiating. Burial with military rites by the honor guard of the American Legion and the Veteran's of Foreign War is at St. Elizabeth Catholic Cemetery in Coldwater.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. today at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, Vevay, and 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-10 a.m. Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Memorials can be made to Hospice of Cincinnati with contribution cards available at the funeral home.
