Joseph Doseck
Joseph W. Doseck, 96, St. Marys, died at 1:40 a.m. Oct. 7, 2010, at his daughter's home in Celina.
He was born Sept. 9, 1914, in Auglaize County, to Edward and Theresia Becher Doseck. He married Vera Pauline Elston, who died April 3, 1995.
Surviving is a daughter, I. Sue (William) Shreves, Celina; four brothers, Charles (Juanita) Doseck, St. Marys, Bill Doseck, St. Marys, Nicholas (Barb) Doseck, Botkins, and Philip (Ruth) Doseck, St. Marys; a sister, Theresia (Alex) Fellows, Sebring, Fla.; four grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Edward Doseck and Fred Doseck; and a sister, Laura Mosler.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he survived the attack on Pearl Harbor while stationed there. He worked as a mechanic and retired as the owner/operator of Doseck's Garage in St. Marys. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in St. Marys. He volunteered for the ABLE program for St. Marys City Schools , the Auglaize County Victim's Assistance program, Joint Township District Memorial Hospital and the Grand Lake Home Health and Hospice Program. He also received his GED at the age of 72.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home in St. Marys, the Revs. Tim Smith and Bill Drummond officiating. Burial with full military rites is at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Friday and 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
