Early harvest

A farmer harvests corn Monday morning on Shelly Road northwest of Mendon. Many area farmers are harvesting crops earlier than usual this year due to a warm, early spring and recent dry weather that sped up the maturation process. Today's weather will be summer-like with temperatures in the high 80s. Showers and thunderstorms are expected Wednesday.
