* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Carl W. Kimmel
Carl W. Kimmel, 95, Rockford, died at 4:07 a.m. Sept. 17, 2010, at the Gardens at Celina.
He was born June 1, 1915, to Ferdellus "Joe" and Mina Lampy Kimmel. On Dec. 31, 1942, he married Eleanor Freck, who died Aug. 3, 1986.
Surviving are two children, Catherine (Arthur) Mirtes, Huron, and Gary (Sharon) Kimmel, Celina; a sister, Mary Krugh, Mendon; four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Kenneth and Edwin Kimmel; a sister, Evelyn MacKay; and a granddaughter.
He was a dairy farmer and a 1933 graduate of Rockford High School. He was a member of the former Rockford Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon and elder. He also was a member of Rockford Masonic Lodge since 1941.
Services are 11:30 a.m. Monday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, the Rev. Bob Sweeney officiating. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.
