Scattered snow showers can be expected this morning along with westerly winds gusting to around 40 mph at times. Temperatures will continue to fall this morning, with readings dropping well below freezing.
Snow accumulations will be a half inch or less. This will result in some slick spots on untreated surfaces as well as bridges and overpasses. Please allow for some extra time to reach your destination this morning. Be prepared for changing road conditions as well as gusty winds.

Representatives from Algaeventure Systems, Marysville, made the first application of silica to a 2.5-acre test site in Grand Lake today. The test is to see if good, diatom algae can be made to grow and outcompete the lake's toxic blue-green algae. Three more applications of silica will be made this week and next, said company CEO Ross Youngs.
