NEW BREMEN - Village council members received good news Tuesday night in the form of lower than expected bids for a road reconstruction project. As a result, they added two more streets to the annual resurfacing program.
PAB Construction of Coldwater submitted the low bid of $240,973.60 for the Elk Drive reconstruction project, well below engineering estimates of $337,000. Workers are expected to begin in September and complete the project by mid-November. [More]

The annual Miss Lake Festival Scholarship Pageant is set for Monday in the air-conditioned Celina Fieldhouse.
Eight local young women will compete for the queen's crown and Miss Lake Festival 2010 title. A preshow at 7:30 p.m. kicks off the evening with the pageant to start at 8.

ACME District Tournament at Coldwater
COLDWATER - The winners on the first night of the District 4 ACME Tournament were the Coldwater Cavaliers and Mother Nature.
The Cavaliers did all of their offensive damage against Van Wert in the first four innings and Coldwater defeated Van Wert at Veterans Field.
