Clois Dudgeon
Clois Edward Dudgeon, 86, Rockford, died at 11:45 a.m. June 30, 2010, at his home.
He was born March 7, 1924, in Rockford, to Albert and Lela High Dudgeon. On Sept. 10, 1950, he married Sally Shockley, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Edward (Nicky) Dudgeon, Okemos, Mich.; two daughters, Camille Ann Green, Troy, and Dawn (Jeff) DuComb, Bingham Farms, Mich.; a brother, Dr. Charles (Elizabeth) Dudgeon, Yorktown, Ind.; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
He served in the U.S. Army in World War II and was an owner and operator of the Little Elevator Company in Rockford. He was a graduate of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind., with a degree in agriculture. He was a member of Rockford United Methodist Church in Rockford, a 32nd Degree Mason, Valley of Dayton, a member of Shanes Lodge No. 377 F & AM, a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity and a Sunday school teacher at the church for several years.
Funeral services are 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Chip Steffy officiating. Burial with graveside military rites is at Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Friday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford and 10:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
