Virginia Bourelle
Virginia R. Bourelle, 84, Rockford, died at 2:49 p.m. June 23, 2010, at Van Wert County Hospital.
She was born Aug. 7, 1925, in Rockford, to Wilbur and Beatrice Gephart Stover. On Jan. 19, 1946, she married Donald Eugene Bourelle, who died March 26, 1993.
Surviving are six children, James (Jan) Bourelle, Van Wert, Don (Jodi) Bourelle, Willshire, Karen (Marc) Macrum, Littleton, Colo., Melanie (Reg) Hinchcliff, Grover Hill, Tami (Dorsey) Roth, Leo, Ind., and Lisa (Robert) Brister, Willshire; two brothers, Don (Rose) Stover, Goshen, Ind., and Robert Stover, Rockford; three sisters-in-law, Jeanne (Glenn) Diffee, Downey, Calif., Nina (Al) Newton, Kingman, Ariz., and Shriley Bourelle, Bishop, Calif.; 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 12 stepgrandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Rockford United Methodist Church, the church's Women's Association and the Cadet Nurse Corps. She worked as the school secretary at Rockford School, was a bookkeeper at the Rockford Stone Company, and retired from Teleflex in Van Wert. She also volunteered at the Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, the Rev. Chip Steffy officiating. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday and 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
