Herman Hamrick
Herman H. Hamrick, 95, of Willshire, died March 17, 2010, at the Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.
He was born April 1, 1914, in Chattanooga, Tenn., to William E. and Maude E. Cordell Hamrick. On June 18, 1939, he married Cordella A. "Cordy" Habegger, who died Sept. 15, 2001.
Surviving are a daughter, Sharon K. (Bill) Clouse, Rockford; two sons, LaVerne D. (Cheryl) Hamrick and Gary L. (Debra) Hamrick, all of Willshire; two sisters, Bessie Sanders and Virginia Landis, both of Monroe, Ind.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, Cloyde Hamrick.
He was a member of the Decatur Church of God and the Union United Methodist Church, where he served as chairman of the building committee during its construction. He also was a member of the Ohio Flying Farmers Association since 1950. He worked as a machinist and in carpentry until the 1950s, then farmed full time. He was a 1932 graduate of Willshire High School.
Services are 2:30 p.m. today at the Decatur Church of God, the Revs. Dr. Robert Brink and Mark Rutledge officiating. Burial is at Willshire Cemetery.
Calling is 1:30-2:30 p.m. today at the church.
