Junior Ora Pugh
Former St. Marys resident Junior Ora Pugh, 84, 13122 Firefly Lane, Hudson, Fla., died Nov. 16, 2009, at his home.
He was born March 10, 1925, in Lima, to Jess W. and Lenora Allen Pugh. On Jan. 31, 1950, he married Opal L. Cooper, who survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Carl (Pam) Pugh, Celina, Joseph (Melodia) Pugh, of Guam, and Robert E. Pugh and Jesse (Susan) Pugh, all of Hudson, Fla., two daughters, Wanda (Richard) Hartline, Tremonton, Utah, and Nancy (Hershel) Jackson, Rose Hill, Va.; a foster daughter, Polly (Hammond) Nonnemacher, Ann Arbor, Mich.; two brothers, Jim Pugh, Lima, and Leroy Pugh, Florence, Miss.; a sister, Ilene Adams, Memphis, Tenn.; 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are an infant son, Johnny Ray Pugh; five brothers, Tom, Ken, Fenton, Robert, and Carl Pugh; and a sister, Irene Pugh.
He retired from Wick's Truss Company in Elfers, Fla., and had driven a truck for Yellow Transit in Springfield. He also was a production employee at the former Avco New Idea plant in Coldwater. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II.
Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Long & Folk Funeral Home in St. Marys, the Rev. Dave Dennis officiating. Burial with military rites is at Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
Calling is 11-1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
