Anna Mae Stammen
Former New Weston resident Anna Mae Stammen, 82, died at midnight Feb. 11, 2010, at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.
She was born Feb. 15, 1927, in Cranberry, to Julius and Veronica Moorman Link. On Jan. 12, 1952, she married Cornelius S. "Bud" Stammen, who died March 24, 1994.
Surviving are three sons, Homer Stammen, Union City, Matthew (Sylvia) Stammen, Coldwater, and Myron (Marilyn) Stammen, New Weston; two daughters, Luann (Pradecp) Damke, Kettering, and Angela Heistand, Bradenton, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; a stepgrandchild; a great-grandchild and five stepgreat-grandchild.
Deceased is a daughter, Lillian; a stepgrandchild; four sisters, Mildred Hudson, Elaine Lorton, Rosemary Litmer and Erma Jean Link; and five brothers, Leo, Henry, Harold, Don and Frank Link.
She was a 1945 graduate of St. Henry High School and a member of the Daughters of Isabella Circle 1800, Fort Recovery. She also was a member of the National Farmers Organization of Darke County, for which she served as secretary for 25 years. She was a secretary for the Wabash Conservatory and a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Sharpsburg, where she taught religion and created banners for the church.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Charles Mullen officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 1-6 p.m. Sunday and 9-9:45 a.m. Monday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery. A prayer service led by the Daughters of Isabella is at 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
