MARIA STEIN - It wasn't exactly the textbook way to put a basketball game away, but considering the circumstances, the Marion Local Flyers will take it.
The Flyers suffered a rash of missed free throws down the stretch, but had just enough in the tank to hold on for a rugged 46-44 victory over the St. John's Blue Jays, who came into the game ranked number one in the latest Division IV state poll. [More]

Celina
An offer to participate in American Municipal Power's (AMP) proposed hydroelectric projects in southern Ohio was met with reluctance by some Celina City council members Thursday.
St. MARYS - Despite the economic downturn that impacted local municipalities last year, things are looking up, according to the mayor's state of the city report.
Coldwater
Coldwater Police Department handled more than 13,000 calls for service during 2009, according to an annual report released by Police Chief Randy Waltmire.
ST. HENRY - A 20-point lead midway through the second quarter is usually a safe lead.
Turned out, it was only a highlight of Thursday's New Bremen-St. Henry girls basketball game.
MINSTER - The Minster Wildcats used a strong defensive effort and a late rally to upset the Fort Recovery Indians, 38-36, in Midwest Athletic Conference action on Thursday night at the Minster Middle School.
VAN WERT - It certainly wasn't the best performance of the season by the Celina girls basketball team, but it was more than enough to keep the Bulldogs in a tie for first place in the Western Buckeye League.
